Alberto Inglesias To Receive Ubeda Career Award
Two-time Oscar nominated and seven-times Goya winner composer Alberto Inglesias will receive an award at the upcoming Ubeda Fourth International Film Music Conference in July, it was announced by the conference.
The award is in recognition of his career, and will be presented by the mayor of Ubeda, Mr. D. Marcelino Sanchez Ruiz.
Iglesias was born in San Sebastian, Spain, and was nominated for an Oscar for best dramatic score in 2006 for The Constant Gardener and in 2008 for The Kite Runner. Since the 1980s he has composed more than 30 scores for films directed by filmmakers including Pedro Almodovar, Oliver Stone, Julio Medem and Carlos Saura. He has been awarded 7 Goya awards, one European Film Award and the National Film Award.
