By • September 22, 2008

Lord of the Rings composer Howard Shore is doing the original score for the much anticipated drama Doubt, starring Philip Seymour Hoffman, Meryl Streep and Amy Adams. The film, which is set in 1964 and tells the story about a nun who confronts a priest after suspecting him of abusing a black student, is directed by screenwriting veteran John Patrick Shanley, who won the 1988 Oscar for his Moonstruck script. Scott Rudin produces for release by Miramax on December 10. Lately, Howard Shore has been concentrating his work on the opera version of The Fly. He replaces Philip Glass as the composer on Doubt.
