By • January 15, 2005

LOS ANGELES (Film Music Magazine) — A grass roots group of composers has drafted a set of eight questions to be posed to writer candidates for the ASCAP Board of Directors election.

The composers are part of the Film Music Pro email discussion list, an online community for people in the film and television music industry with over 700 participants.

The questions ask about the candidates’ positions on various issues of importance to composers including tracking of music performances, usage weightings and how they effect instrumental music, tracking technology, transparency of music usage statistics, and more.

The group has invited the industry to examine and endorse the questions as a measure of support from the industry.
