Villa Music Rights Launches DIY Copyright Management and Music Licensing Site

Film Music Magazine • November 16, 2009

Villa Music Rights has launched a new online service it says is designed to allow copyright owners to manage their own copyrights and streamline the process of rights licensing to commercial music users.

The new service allows composers and songwriters to register their works, which Villa Music Rights watermarks for tracking purposes. The site says the new service will provide a database where music authors and lyricists can make their works available for licensing. As part of the service, the company plays a role as facilitator in contacts between music authors and users, and is paid a commission from music transactions.
