Cherry Lane Music Publishing Signs Admin Publishing Deal With Lionsgate Music

Lionsgate Music Publishing LLC, the music publishing arm of the Lionsgate film studio, and independent music publishing company Cherry Lane Music Publishing Company, Inc. have entered into a multi-year administration agreement for the US and Canada, it was announced by Lionsgate Music President Jay Faires and Cherry Lane CEO Peter Primont. Under the terms of the deal, Cherry Lane will administer and exploit Lionsgate’s extensive catalog of film and TV music and individual songs.

“Cherry Lane is proud to represent Lionsgate’s growing music catalog,” said Primont. “In addition to Lionsgate’s many films and current hit TV series, Jay Faires and Lenny Wohl have developed an impressive music publishing company with a diverse array of copyrights. We look forward to working together with them and their team to further develop and promote the Lionsgate music library.”

“Cherry Lane has a remarkable track record of efficient collection systems, and we are impressed by the breadth and depth of their entire licensing team,” added Faires. “They have a more boutique roster than the majors, allowing our executives to get the focus we are looking for as we continue to build our music publishing assets. This is a unique opportunity for two similarly entrepreneurial companies to marshal their resources and skill sets to grow to the next level of our business.”

Mike Connelly, EVP of Business Development, and Keith Hauprich, VP of Legal and Business Affairs, negotiated the deal on behalf of Cherry Lane. Lenny Wohl, GM and EVP of Business Affairs negotiated on behalf of Lionsgate Music.
