Film Music Magazine • April 14, 2010

The Association of Media Composers and Lyricists (AMCL) has announced an organizing meeting, hosted by Teamsters Local 399, on April 19, 2010 at 7:30pm at the Writers Guild Theater, 135 S. Doheny Drive in Beverly Hills, CA.

On November 16, 2009, an informational meeting was attended by 350 composers and lyricists, half of whom signed cards indicating they wished to be represented by Teamsters 399 in negotiating a collective bargaining agreement with production companies.

The AMCL has announced they will be discussing further information about the progress the group has made since the initial meeting in 2009, including support received from other guilds.

All composers and lyricists are invited to attend. Parking is available and is being paid by the Teamsters in the structure directly south of the Writers Guild Theater. Please RSVP your attendance by email to

Please, local composers represent us East Coasters and Video Game composers who can’t make it right now. If we adopt a Global Rule One like SAG, then we’ll have a better chance at not chasing work to China.

I will be there.
We of BAFTA use the WGA often for screenings and WGA parking structure we use is entered from the alley that runs E-W just north of the theatre. I am not aware of any parking south of the theatre (there is a for pay public parking structure across the street on the east from the WGA.)
