Sir Anthony Hopkins upcoming drama Slipstream – the Academy Award-winning actor’s first film as a director since 1996 and his debut as a screenwriter – will get an original score by Randy Miller. On his two previous films as a director, Hopkins has also composed the original scores himself, in August with the assistance of George Fenton. Slipstream tells the story about a screenwriter who is working on a murder mystery script where the characters start to appear in real life. Hopkins also stars in the film together with Gena Rowlands and Christian Slater. The film is scheduled to begin shooting in Los Angeles this month.

Randy Miller’s other recent credits include Shanghai Red and Last Time Forever. Among his earlier films are Hellraiser III: Hell on Earth, Without Limits and Heaven and Earth, which he co-composed with Japanese artist Kitaro. Miller has just reunited with Kitaro, orchestrating and composing additional music for a new live performance show, Impression West Lake, created by acclaimed Chinese director Zhang Yimou (Hero, House of Flying Daggers, Raise the Red Lantern).
