Jonathan Elias, a versatile composer who is still best known for his mid 80s scores Children of the Corn, Two Moon Junction and Vamp, has been hired to compose the music for the action adventure Pathfinder, helmed by German director Marcus Nispel, whose previous credits include the remake of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. A remake of Nils Gaup’s acclaimed 1987 similarly titled film, Pathfinder tells the story about a young Viking boy who is raised by a Native American tribe and becomes a warrior fighting the Norsemen. Phoenix Pictures produces the film with 20th Century Fox distributing the picture scheduled for release on July 14. The cast features Karl Urban, Clancy Brown, Moon Bloodgood, Ralf Moeller and Russell Means.
