If there are film and television recording sessions located near you, you should absolutely try and attend as many of these as possible, especially in the early years of your career.
There is a wealth of information available at these sessions, and simply by sitting there and being quiet (that's the protocol for visitors at these sessions), you can learn a huge amount.
Just don't make the mistake some new composers do of trying to "make contacts" at these sessions by introducing yourself to the director, producer, etc. If you're fortunate enough to be invited to observe, do just that - observe. Anything more is inappropriate and you'll likely burn a bridge without even knowing it.
